Statement of Problem Worksheet
Directions: Refer to the criteria on the "Design Analysis" information sheet and write, in the blank spaces below the sample, a "Statement of Problem" for a "Pick and Place", three operation, mini-robot. It is recommended that you select a relatively basic application for your robot so you can complete all of the activities and assignments during the two semesters of this course. Remember . . . the "Statement of Problem" gives basic information concerning "WHO, WHAT, WHERE, WHEN, WHY" and "approximate COST". Specific information will be listed in "Criteria & Parameters".
SAMPLE
To design a robot for Automated Systems Corporation, an materials handling firm owned by Mr. Super Visor of Lincolnshire, Illinois. The product is to improve the packaging of assorted sizes of personalized notepads; and should be constructed of lightweight materials and standard parts. The facility is located in the Stevenson Industrial Park on the southeast corner of Port Clinton and Prairie Roads. The final cost of the product is not to exceed $20,000 and must be completed by June 1, 2005. |
