First, you want to start playing tennis taking turns with your opponent playing your service game and receiving the ball. All you want to do for this game is to hit back the tennis ball with your racquet therefore creating a rally with your opponent |
To score for these games of tennis you have to follow a specific order of scoring. If you win a rally against your opponent you get 15 points then 30, then 40, and then finishing that game. |
Once you get past 40 points you get one game point. There are 6 games in one set of tennis, so you must continuously get more points then your opponent to win more games. Once you get six games before your opponent you win a set. |
Depending on the gender there are number of sets you have to win. For mens there are 3 sets you have to win and for women you need 2 sets. When you have one more point to win to beat your opponent it is called matchpoint. |
In some cases there are tiebreakers which is when the number sets is equal and the number games won to win that set reaches to 7 for both people. Therefore players must win 7 points against your opponent to win the match. |

You always want to have fun when you play tennis, but you always want to follow the rules. Have FUN! |
