The "Elevation Sketch" for a commercial structure shows the front view at a scale of 1/4"=1'-0" (1/48 size) and may include the back, right or left side views at a scale of 1/8"=1'-0" (1/96 size). These views are used to show the exterior appearance of the building and are created by projecting from the floor plan. These plans show:

• the height of the walls
• the heights of windows & doors
• the heights of floors & ceilings
• the size of the overhang
• the materials used on the walls and roof
• the ground line
• the roof pitch
• landscaping may be shown
