Advanced Technical Drawing - Architectural
STATEMENT OF PROBLEM
The Statement of Problem is developed by the architect with the client and briefly indicates the general scope of the design project being undertaken. The following information should be included in the Statement of Problem:
SAMPLE:
To design a five thousand square foot office and storage facility for Red Hot Electric, Inc., an electrical contracting firm owned by Mr. Bright Lite of Lincolnshire, Illinois. The structure is to have a masonry exterior with a steel superstructure and a pitched tiled roof. The rolling, eight acre site on State Highway 45, east of Vernon Hills, must provide parking and storage areas which must be concealed by appropriate landscaping. The total cost of project is not to exceed $750,000 and must be completed by June 1, 2004.
DIRECTIONS: Review the information
and sample above and write a Statement of
Problem for the building you wish to design during the
coming school year. Be sure to select a structure you are truly
interested in as you will be working on this building for the
entire year. It would be very helpful if you had someone (parent,
relative, friend or employer) that you could work with on this
project.
Restrictions: Single story with up to 6000 square feet of floor space.
