in Health class. Steve Wood also shared how uses PDF files on

3. End of Semester / Mentor
Observation Report:
- ALL RANGERS
are asked to please complete the online End of Semester Report
by Friday, FEB 1. Veteran Rangers who did not attend the
meeting may notice that the report format is similar to one completed
last year. As you answer the two open-ended questions please
be sure to include how you have met your 8 hour training requirement
this semester. Sam does not want a minute-by-minute list, but
rather a narrative illustrating the workshops, activities, conferences,
etc. you have attended or conducted. Remember we are looking
for examples of growth as a result of your individual and collaborative
work as a PowerRanger. Please discuss
with your mentee, or email Sam if you have any questions.
The web link to the online form will be sent
via email to all PowerRangers. Sam summarizes these to report
to the Board of Education.
4. Administrivia
- Sam asked PowerRangers to take extra care
with equipment. There has been considerable accidental damage
recently and we are now down to 2 loaners.
- Replacement batteries for the "Wall
Street" (black keyboards) are now available. Please see
Charlene if your battery is not holding a charge, and "resetting"
the battery has not helped.
- Several University of Stevenson courses
will be offered after school in the 2nd semester. iMovie and
AppleWorks are popular requests and will be among the offerings.
- STAR-Online courses are highly recommended
for Rangers who are looking to obtain "8 hours" of
training for the 2nd semester. The are a total of 32 modules
available, which can be completed at no charge, without University
of Stevenson credit. Fifteen of the modules have been approved
for University of Stevenson credit.
- Video Projection: Hardware (cords and
connectors) from Charlene and Todd, supply is diminishing, if
you are NOT currently using the connection equipment, please
return it to the "pool."
- Future of PowerRangers: Depending upon
the outcome of the referendum, Sam is hoping to expand the program
by another 50 teachers next year. Current PowerRangers will remain
in the program but will not have the opportunity of upgrading,
and the program may not receive the same type of funding.
5. Are your files backed up?
- Be sure to update virus protection after
Feb. 1.
* Next meeting: Friday, Feb. 22, 2002 -- periods 4, 5, & 6,
