SHS Staff 2:do you have MPEG
SHS Staff 2:Hello Tom, where are you connecting from?

SHS Staff 2:Here is a shot of the staff lab with one of
our teachers working diligently!
SHS Staff 2:I had responses from teachers in Argentina
which may be joining in.
SHS Staff 2:They were a bit confused on the time zone and
tried to connect about 3 hours ago.
SHS Staff 2:I hope they will try again.
Larry :Be back in about 10 min. Giong to the cafe for lunch
sandyt::-)
SHS Staff 2:Can you tell me if any of you or your fellow

sandyt:no one in SW CO that I am familiar with
Tom:Each of your videos is quite good
SHS Staff 2:I am using a color quickcam by connectix. But
unfortunately my software crashed and am using the evaluation
copy. So I will come and go every 15 minutes during this conference.
sandyt:I would like to use it with my students when I return
this fall
SHS Staff 2:Hello Iredell!

SHS Staff 2:I can see you now Iredell

SHS Staff 2:I believe we have a limit of 15 in this conference.
How many of you have used the GSN site for conferences before?
sandyt:I have not
Tom:I have
SHS Staff 2:I see someone sleepy behind Sandy!
LindaDanvilleOH:??? i see message opening video stream

sandyt:another son
sandyt:just woke up....ugh
Tom:I have used it to broadcast our brood of hatching chicks.
At this moment I am at home not at school
SHS Staff 2:Tom, any ideas for Linda -- since you seem
to be the one with the most experience here?
Tom:I have used it a lot but the projects are too long
to descibe. I do several matching of picutres and clues with kids
and also with drawings.
LindaDanvilleOH:is my video coming to you?
Tom:If you like I will give you my e-mail and I can send
you some"lessons" of things that I have done
sandyt:I can see your video and now I can hear you
sandyt:(that was to Linda)
Traci Redish:Tom, I would love any "lessons"
you have.
Tom:my e-mail is dzicek@ecsuc.ctstateu.edu
sandyt:wow, that was perfect traci
Tom:drop me a note and I will send you some things that
we have done
SHS Staff 2:It's strange because I don't have an eyeball

Traci Redish:I don't have an eyeball beside Iredell and
I cannot see them.
sandyt:I can see everyone but Traci
SHS Staff 2:Our students just completed a virtual classroom

SHS Staff 2:They did a project on the Y2K problem - like
an online game
SHS Staff 2:thanks Tom I will!
LindaDanvilleOH:getting video now from iredell
Larry :For those of you with Macintosh computers, I suggest
using the Cornell version of CUSEEME. It works MUCH better than
the WP version you are using and it is free.
sandyt:perhaps we can try this again when we are all in
school...I would love to try it at school...I am home now
SHS Staff 2:Does it support Color? and do you have a website
for download? I thought Cornell stopped distributing it.
sandyt:anyone interested?
sandyt:we don't start school until the 25th
Larry :yes, I am using it
Traci Redish:Has anyone used this technology with K-5 teachers?
sandyt:
Traci Redish:I am interested
sandyt:no
SHS Staff 2:Larry I have lost your video
LindaDanvilleOH:i'm k-2 trying to learn and get started

this info...sandyt@frontier.net
Traci Redish:Great! Maybe we can figure this out together.
Larry : stopped sending, I am eating lunch
Traci Redish:What's for lunch?
sandyt::-)
SHS Staff 2:Is that why your video is turned off Larry?
Larry :soup and sand
Traci Redish:Could you email me a "byte!"
SHS Staff 2:Sound seems to be the most difficult part of
this, but our students were happy to be able to "see"
their keypals!
Larry :thakns for asking, I fogot my soup was getting cold
Tom:to traci.I usethiswith class activites with teachers
Traci Redish:What type of activities?
SHS Staff 2:be right back

Tom:to Traci I would love to see that Is it possible?
Tom:try it with cu
Tom:it is a lot more fun
Traci Redish:It is a 7 day program and the teachers are
required to create a class home page, develop a Web Quest, join
an Internet Project and the list goes on....We piloted it this
summer..It went great!
SHS Staff 2:Ok, what are you guys talking about that is
a lot more fun?

SHS Staff 2:Traci, I need to chat with you on Webquests!!
SHS Staff 2:Can I email you about that Traci?
SHS Staff 2:Hello Mouse

take a picutre of the kid (holding a number) then the receiving
group tries to match essay to student
Traci Redish:Sure...We offer a class on creating WEbQuests
as well.

LindaDanvilleOH:no to zoo?
Larry :The Cornell version allows for desktop capture

Mouse:HI - I'm from Michigan way up in the Upper Peninsula
near CAnada. This is my first time on CuSee me and I'm confused.
