Virtual Architecture: Designing and Directing Curriculum-Based Telecollaboration (from Judi Harris): Integrating computer-mediated technology into your classroom is well worth it if accomplished in a way that helps new and worthwhile things happen there. This site helps you begin building with a flexible framework--clear, strong, and simple activity structures--that becomes your foundation for designing and implementing powerful curriculum-based telecomputing projects. (Check out Ch. 4!) http://ccwf.cc.utexas.edu/~jbharris/Virtual-Architecture/index.html

Exploring Existing Web Projects:

Blue Web'n Library
Browse or search a database of about 1,000 high-quality online projects. According to the site, "Blue Web'n does not attempt to catalog all educational sites, but only the most useful sites -- especially online activities targeted at learners." Busy teachers can also receive free weekly updates by e-mail.

From the Department of Educaton:
The Teacher's Guide to International Collaboration was developed to help teachers use the Internet to "reach out" globally. These materials were prepared as part of the Department of Education's International Education Initiative. http://www.ed.gov/Technology/guide/international/index.html

Global SchoolNet:
Global SchoolNet is the leader in collaborative learning providing online opportunities for teachers to collaborate, communicate, and celebrate shared learning experiences. http://www.gsn.org/

The Collaboratory Project is a Northwestern University initiative that provides project consulting, training, technical advice, and Web-based resources and services to K-12 teachers and their students who are interested in using Internet technologies to advance education. Teachers use the Collaboratory to develop activity-based projects that are benchmarked to Illinois Learning Standards and Goals. You can search for Projects in the Collaboratory by title, subject, grade, manager (teacher) last name, and/or school. http://collaboratory.nunet.net/

The Community Learning Network helps K-12 teachers integrate technology into the classroom. A list of projects to explore are at: http://www.cln.org/int_projects.html
