Create your own Libraries in AppleWorks!

In AppleWorks, you can create custom libraries to share with your colleagues!
From the File menu, choose Library > New

With the “Arrow”  selection tool active, select text frames, backgrounds or objects you have created and click the “Add” button. By clicking the “arrow pointer” at the bottom of the library, you can rename your items! Change the way your library appears with the View -> View Options… menu. When finished, “Save” your library with the command located in the “File” menu of the library’s window. Note: If you wish to share libraries with PC users, keep the file name under 8 characters, with no spaces, and include “.cwl” at the end (Example: math.cwl)

To open a saved custom library, from the File menu choose Library > Open, and navigate to where the library was saved.

Practice with a custom library: Begin a new Drawing document. Format the margins to .25 all around. Change the page set-up to landscape and reduce the view. Choose “Edit Master Page” and open the “Slide Backgrounds” library from the disk. Drag your choice to the Master Page!

New in AppleWorks 5.0…Libraries make Slide Shows fun & easy!
From the File menu, choose Library > Slides
Then, choose from:

Basic
Book Report
Business Plan
Classic
Field Trip
Financial Report
Hip
My Summer Vacation
Science Report

Each library contains “pre-formatted” text samples sized perfectly for slide show viewing. Just change the text color to complement your presentation! Be sure to check out the selections in the “Classic” library for some “super” layouts and the “Hip” library for some cool objects to help illustrate your points! Investigate the spreadsheet starters in the “Financial” library which you can customize, and some graphs which although can’t be altered, can give you an idea of graphs you or your students might want to create!
