Preventative Maintenance:
Anytime you install software, (or if your computer does not seem to be performing
well) it is a good idea to run the Repair Disk Permissions utility. Be sure to quit all programs before you begin.
Open the Applications -> Utilities folder.
Inside Utilities, double-click to launch the Disk Utility application:
Click to highlight your hard drive icon (called Macintosh HD in
most cases.)
Click the First Aid tab, then click the “Repair DIsk
Permissions” button:
The First Aid
window will show the repairing permissions status.
You will see a message when Permissions
Repair is complete.
Quit the Disk Utility and resume normal computing tasks.
