Saving a File
in AppleWorks
(Remember the Mantra: "Save
early, save often!")
Whenever you open a new document,
you should save it before you begin to type. From the File
menu choose Save or Save As...
When you first save your document,
it will need to be named and you must choose
a place to save the file to. This could be a folder on
the hard drive or a computer disk. NEVER SAVE FILES INTO THE APPLEWORKS
FOLDER.
Examine the Save dialog window
below:
To save to the General Folder on your
hard drive:
- First type the name of your file. Do
not click in the ìuntitledî area.
The name you type will
replace untitled.
- Click and hold your mouse
on the location rectangle at the top and select
Macintosh HD.
Scroll through the list and double-click to "open"
the General Folder.
(General Folder should
now be displayed in the location rectangle).
- Verify that the name and location
are correct, then click Save.
Be sure to select
SAVE from the FILE menu again before you print and when
you close your document.
