  6. Describe the mechanisms of swallowing. 
  7. Describe the regulation of digestive secretions. 
  8. Explain how the products of digestion are absorbed. 
  9. Describe the defecation reflex. 
  10. List the major sources of carbohydrates, lipids, and proteins. 
  11. Describe how cells use carbohydrates, lipids and proteins. 
  12. List the fat-soluble and water-soluble vitamins,and summarize the general functions of each vitamin. 
  13. List the major minerals and traces elements and summarize the general functions of each. 
  14. Describe an adequate diet.
